In the Renaissance every educated person was expected to be trained in music. History does tell us that in later centuries many important figures in history (such as Thomas Jefferson, Harry Truman, and Bill Clinton) were competent musicians. Do you feel that an educated person today should be able to perform musically? Does musical skill make you more educated?

There was time when people used to be good at music and they used to take interest in music and in Renascence period every educated person was trained in music .But today,it has changed as people are to busy in their lives . No one has time to learn , the world has become competitive and people wants to be jack of all but master of none . Though in my opinion music is important ,but people should keep it as a hobby in today's time .Music helps us to develope the mind and if we think that an educated person should learn the music than I agree with it because music has many usage like it helps you to calm yourself ,it relaxes you but apart from every educated person I think every one should learn it .There are many benefits of music .Music should be learnt by everyone .

Yes, music you smarter and study has proved it. Playing an instrument rather than listening to music makes you smart. It helps brain to function more as you are learning a a whole new language . If we compare two students one who is trained in playing a instrument and other student has no traning than a student who is trained will score good marks than non traning student in exams . As his brain will work on whole new level as his brain is organized and operated in different way .So music makes you more educated and smart .
