(Answer) Firstly, the regimes under Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler were all atrocious to minorities and individuals of their own nation that disagreed with the rulers in any manner. However, since this is the scenario where one must pick the lesser of three evils, it might be a lot less harsh to go with the Communist state under Joseph Stalin.

Communism is the system where the right to ownership is in the hands of the people and not the elite. Although it may seem benevolent as compared to a Capitalist economy where the rich are privileged and the poor tend to struggle more, Communism has its flaws too. Considering that ownership is not in the hands of the elite but, with the people, it is generally the government that “represents” the people who actually regulate the ownership.

When this is the case, the government would even have the right to revoke privileges from individuals who might disagree with the government. Worse off, the government might acquire fanatic supporters from people who are allotted more privileges than the people who disagree. On the other hand, this regime might have a few affirmative attributes like the wealth is not concentrated in the hand s of the private sector and taxes are mostly better regulated than in a capitalist economy.

Communism under Joseph Stalin was bad enough to the point where the “yes men” were amongst the elite and the people who disagreed were plainly shot in the street or raped and tortured. This goes to say that even though Communism wasn’t as terrible as Fascism or Nazism, it was bad under Stalin mostly because it was handled atrociously under a paranoid leader. This is probably why I would choose Communism.
