Yes, Freudian psychoanalysis is still used.
Sigmund Freud, the father of psychotherapy, was the first to conceptualize a well organized and systematic form of therapy, psychoanalysis. The underlying principle behind which is that the unconscious mind is the home for suppressed motives, desires, and wishes and these unexpressed urges motivate us and even bothers us.
However, in spite of being criticized for its lack of validity in the therapeutic approach, amount of time involved in the therapy process and being overly expensive, it is still in use. It might not be as popular as it once was, but psychoanalysis has undergone a lot of changes since the time of Freud and has been developed in a way that it proves to be effective in today's world. This makeover does not mean that psychoanalysis has strayed away from Freud, his concepts still remain the core of Psychoanaltyic therapy.
