Summarize the dietary needs of a person over 70 years old; highlight the foods an older person should increase or decrease because of his or her age; explain how the diet you have chosen meets those specific needs.

A 70 - year old diet must be high in fiber, potassium, calcium, vitamin C and vitamin A.

The most often consumed drink must be water. Water must be consumed at an interval of one hour, to prevent any sort of gastric problems. After this, they must take atleast 6 servings of bread/cereal/rice/pasta, as this will give them the required energy. People in this age group must consume vegetables and fruits like carrot,brocolli,apples,grapes, etc.

3 servings of milk,youghurt or 2 servings of fish or poultry is necessary to give them the required amount of protein.

Food like fats, oil and sweets must be eaten sparingly. Also, food with high fat content and cholesterol content, must be avoided.
