Realism and Idealism
Idealism refers to behavior or thought that is based on a conception of things as they should be or as one would like them to be. Realism is sometimes described as "warts and all," existing in fact rather than something imagined. What are some contemporary examples that utilize idealism? Are the purposes the same as those of the Classical Greeks? Why do you think Romans developed realistic vs idealistic portraiture? What are some contemporary examples that utilize realism? Which do you prefer, realism or idealism?
The word idealism is derived from the word Idea, the idealism is a classical ideology which developed in ancient Rome as well as eastern countries, idealism believes in thoughts. The idealistic approach divide the world in two parts, one is physical world and another is idea, they focused in thought process and believed that thoughts and ideas are immortal while physical world is mortal.
Eastern philosophy described the thought and meditation as the higher mental process and symbol of life.
The idealism manifest as a scepticism about the possibilities of knowing any mind independent thing, the idealism asserts the primacy of consciousness and thoughts.
Realism, is a kind of philosophical ideology which believes in real and material world. The realism believes that objects are real and independent which can be observe by simple ways. Realistic approach goes through the direct understanding of visible world rather than abstract world. Realism can also be viewed about the nature of reality and material world, it claims the world exists independent of the mind, it oppose scepticism and idealism.
According to my opinion, the realism is better philosophical ideology than idealism because it consider the views in reality. The ideas belongs to the needs and material s that there is no possibilities of thoughts without the realistic world. The idealism talk about thought process but this process belongs to real world. A human development depends on the real environment and material world so no thought process can be possible visible, audible or sensible world.
