Answer #1

Situation 1: In the meeting on Monday, I heard you say something offensive. When I heard it, I felt undermined because of this. I’m wondering if you can understand my feelings?”

Positive recommendation: The most important way to sort out this thing is through discussion. During the discussion, you’ll perform two major activities: Communicating your ideas in a calm and logical manner and really listening to what the other person is saying. You’ll also want to demonstrate that you are accountable for the parts of the issue you may have caused. If you believe you’ve played no part in the problem, you are probably not being realistic.

Situation 2: During a meeting, my manager was literally shouting at me for no good reason. I did not utter a single word as i respect him but this behavior is against the work ethics.

Positive recommendation: A leader that is open and curious will have less trouble with getting people involved. So, as a leader please ensure that you conduct meetings that celebrate small milestones and also appreciate peoples efforts, not only results.

If you say that you like my proposal, I can trust the fact that you really do like it. In a high-context culture, such as most Asian and Native American...
