  • Thinking in general- It is a cognitive process which involved, rearrangement or manipulation of information (from environment and long-term memory). In this process, language, concept, images and symbols are involved also.

example- What should I do tomorrow?

  • Rational thinking- In this process, logics are mainly focused. The solution of problem of any judgment is taken on the basis of perfect logics or reasons.

example- If Ram is 2 years elder than Ramesh. The age of Ramesh is 18. Then what is age of Ram?

  • Effective thinking- In this type, the solution or the outcome of the problem should be effective.

example- How to improve the learning process.

  • Parallel thinking- In this process the problem is divided into many parts.

example- The friend of John was in an important meeting, within an hour he saw a man destroyed and the company had major loss.

  • Lateral thinking- It is also known as Divergent thinking. This type of thinking finds the solution of a problem by looking the alternative ways of the problem. In this type of thinking logical concepts can be ignored. In this process creativity is also involved.

example- A teacher asked to the student to write the solution but he didn't tell the question. What should be written?
