Negative perceptions of disability since ancient times have made disability an everlasting pathological condition. This has resulted in feelings of pity, repulsion or fear for them, which has been handed down to us from time immemorable. Hence, these deep emotions have been embedded in our unconscious mind. So whenever we see a person with disability, it is these emotions that com6e into play unconsciously in our mind and we tend to marginalize them by pitying on them, or make an extra effort to overcome our repulsion or fear for them by showing over kindness. This hinders their progress and development because these emotions make us cripple to think them as humans and treat them equally. These emotions evoke sympathy than empathy, that leads to handle their problems inappropriately and in making inappropriate policies for them.
