Answer #1

Explain the affective events theory, affect intensity, and emotional regulation

The affective events theory had been developed by Howard Weiss and Russel Cropanzano. This model would explain the link that is present in between moods as well as emotions that would influence the performance of a person on their job. Also, it would explain the satisfaction of job that a person has as a result of the changes in mood and emotions. His model, also explains how the work environment of a person would influence his commitment to work, his job satisfaction and his organisational commitment. According to this theory, affective work behavior would be able to explain the mood of a person, the cognitive behavior biases, and this could be best used to predict the job satisauof a person. Also, this theory emphasises on the fact that the uplifts or the positive inducing factors, along with the hassles or the negative inducing factors plus any emotional incident occurring at work, would result in creation of a psychological impact on the worker and thus would influence his job satisfaction. Internal affective as well as external affective reactions will be shown through, organisational commitment and job satisfaction.

Uplifts may be in the form of rewards, goal completion and negative affects may be in the form of reaction for an updated deadline or a difficult client. It has also been suggested that job satisfaction is directly related to turnover and defines the intention of a person to quit or work.
