I have watched movie called Sachin, it is based on the famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. This movie shows the life of Sachin and his journey of cricket. This is a very wonderful movie which shows why the figure of Sachin is so much popular. The movie told that when Sachin had started his career there was lull in India due to various political event and people wanted some energy hence he became the popular figure in India. It was also shown the despite of his huge success he is still close to many of his childhood friends, his child hood friends also told the nice views about Sachin. I would apply theory of Erikson stage 5 Identity vs Role confusion - When Sachin started his career he was such a marvelous player, that people started asking amore about his career prospects and all, but he gave answers to all of them as he wants to be focused rather than thinking about world's best batsman etc.During this period his brother had always supported him, and helped him to clear his identity confusion. Stage 6 - Intimacy vs Isolation - Sachin had met his wife 5 years back before his marraige, he wanted to make clear that his wife would need to leave the career since he was completely focused to cricket. He also needed the support of somebody, wanted to some close family also which his wife gave the best to him. Though stage 7 generativity vs stagnation has the age group 40+, but as a sports player this stagnation came early in his life, when he was doing his good and sometimes due to his tennis elbow injury he was not performing at all, people wanted results from him but he was not giving any, there was point of stagnation and frustration in his life. But his only hardwork had helped him to bring the world cup.
