Homework Answers

Answer #1

Intersectionality is a term coined by Crenshaw to express the problems of the women of color face, crucially, why their issues are ignored by both the feminist anti-racism movements of the time. Thus an understanding; of the use of the popular culture as a tool of protest against white privilege and patriarchy i.e. where the father or eldest male is head of the family and the women are sidelined. Thus understanding intersectionality helps us in understanding problems created by both the genders.
