One of the threatening elements that has taken toll of more youngsters these days is drugs. What began as a fun element has now become an addiction which prevents them from functioning as a normal person in the society. When someone is addict one can’t focus on the task at hand because their attention will be on the drugs. They will also absent themselves from the work often and they will take more breaks during the work time. They will also make mistakes in their work.

There are few simple signs that would differentiate a drug user from others. They will be always tired, tensed, alone etc. Their eyes will look tired and they won’t groom themselves well. They will be out at nights and out to unusual locations in order not to be seen by anyone. They will also steal money at times to buy drugs from the illegal market.

United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, International Narcotics Control Board, World Health Organization, The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, European Union and the States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and African Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders are few of the major international agencies that fight against illegal substance abuse.

Although, all the international and local organizations within a country work hard to prevent the illegal trafficking, use and crimes of drug, it’s not enough because different countries have different style of governments. Few of them are very fragile that the infiltrators can just bribe and enter in and go out of a country. So this non-standard policy is one of the many reasons that make the task of the international agencies against drugs from operating effectively.

United Nations Organization is already leading the national and regional agencies against drugs but local governments should focus and act strictly on drug use. They should also make their laws strict because it’s the question of a healthy generation of that country which would contribute to the development of the country. More importantly, it’s about the safety and security of the country as drug use may lead youngsters to more serious crimes such as, stealing, robbing, attacking and murdering. So, local governments have more serious responsibility than the international communities that will be restricted by the local laws
