What is the TASS model? How does the model talk about aggressive reactions? In an experiment, participants either high or low in trait aggressiveness were given either low or high provocations. Describe the results.
The TASS model explains how aggression is the result of complex interaction between personal traits of a person and situational factors involved. It says that for the triggering of an aggressive response the situation must meet a threshold, when a certain threshold is met the aggressive responsive is seen.
In an experiment, when participants are high on trait aggressiveness the threshold to aggressive response is low, so even in moderate or low provocations, the thresholds is reached and aggressive reactions are produced.
When the participants are low on the trait of aggression, they have a high threshold for aggressive response, this means that only when there is high situational provocations, there will be an aggressive response.
