Erikson was ego psychologist. He beleived that personality is pre determined factor and builts upon each previous stage. This task takes places in 5th stage i.e in Identoty vs. Role Confusion i.e about 12 -18 years of age. During this stage adolscent searches for inner self or personal identity through persoanl goals, values or beliefs. During this transition they start thinking aboutrelationship, career, family, housing etc. Erikson suggests that two identities which a person thinks in this stage are sexual and occupational - Fidelity - adolscent goes though physical changes, harmonal changes. Identoty crisis may take place in this stage where adolscent is confused and tries different lifestyle, to think which suits him perfectly well
