1.) Discuss the nature and content of the Qur’an. How was it revealed to Muhammad? How does the Qur’an see itself (and how do Muslims see it) in relation to the Old and New Testaments?
Quran is the holy book of Islam. It is considered to be the literal word of God revealed to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. The Quran consists of 114 chapters called Sura, that has series of revelation given over a period of year, hence,is considered as single work.Intially it was an oral work that was written down during Muhammad's life and was compiled into a single work after his death.
As Old Testament and New Testament has multiple books of various writers and literary genres that were assembled at a later date , they're considered as corrupted by the Muslims.Muslims consider Quran to be the uncorrupted word of God revealed to their prophet Muhammad.
