What is meant by two methods of construct validity nd two methods of criterion vaidity?
Construct validty has two subtyles, namely, convergent and
discriminant validity. Convergent validity refers to the extent to
which two measures of the construct that are theoretically supposed
to be related, are in fact related. On the other hand, discriminant
validity measures the degree to which measurements that
theoretically should be unrelated are, in fact, unrelated.
Criterion validity is also comprised of two subtypes, which are
concurrent and predictive validity. Concurrent validity refers to a
comparison between the measure and an outcome assessed at the same
time. Whereas, predictive validity, on the other hand, compares the
measure with an outcome assessed at a later time.
