What is your view of our ability to change? Are you as positive as Carl Rogers? What about individuals who hurt others? Should we expect the best from them as well--and if not where is the balance?
My view of our ability to change lies in the fact our learning and progress in the world depends on how eager we are in weighing the merit of new ideas, even if we don’t like them instinctively. Thus if we are an open-minded person we will be eager to learn and have a willingness to accept a change and grow. I am a very positive person perhaps as positive as Carl Rogers, as I emphasize the growth of interpersonal relationship through the development of a person-to-person relationship. Individuals who hurt others even from them we should expect the best from them as well as behaviors and moods change and by counseling and channelization of negative energy, they can act in a positive way.
