According to Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, the order of emotions that people go through as a response to death is denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Research on grief demonstrates that following the death of spouse men are more likely than women to experience physical and mental health problems. In case of death that occurs after a long illness, it is observed that family members are able to cope better. The fellow members are observed to be better prepared through the process of anticipatory grief.
