In simpler terms, demedicalization refers to a problem which cannot be defined as an illness or diorder in medical terms. The classic example of demedicalization is hyperventilation anxiety disorder. The symptoms are physical in nature. It includes shortness in breath, headaches, wheezing and etcetera. However, there is no medical evidence for a disorder of this kind. All the symptoms are subjective to the patient with a supposition of physical ailment. However, it is a psychological disorder, a psychosomatic disorder to be precise. The physical symptoms are felt due to intense anxiety and stress.
