1. Sacredness refers to a qualification of a place, object and/or incidents with religious respect because of their association with divinity or divine things. In religious philosophy, the term sacred has a special meaning as it establishes a connection with the cosmic or divine power within the material world. In this context, certain places or locations acquire the status of being sacred such as the Golden dome in Jerusalem which is universally recognised as a sacred site by Muslims, Jews and Christians and all these three religions hold the site with reverence.
