The radiation coming from the sun consists of short as well as long wavelength radiation.our air medium (consists of green house gases) is transparent to the short and visible wavelength radiation but not long wavelength radiations

Thus short wavelength radiation can easily pass through the atmosphere and reflected from the earth surface and turns into long wavelength this can't pass through the atmosphere and get absorbed.thus the temparetute of our atmosphere increases.
