How much more energy per photon is there in green light of wavelength 519 nm than in red light wavelength of 623 nm?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

wave length of green light = = 519 nm

enegy E = h C /

              = 6.625 x 10^-34 x 3 x 10^8 / 519 x 10^-9

              = 3.83 x 10^-19 J

energy fo green light = 3.83 x 10^-19 J

wave length of green light = = 519 nm

enegy E = h C /

               = 6.625 x 10^-34 x 3 x 10^8 / 623 x 10^-9

               = 3.19 x 10^-19 J

energy fo red light = 3.19 x 10^-19 J

energy difference = (3.83 - 3.19) x 10^-19 = 6.4 x 10^-20 J

6.4 x 10^-20 J more energy per photon is there in green light
