According to snell law, the following phenomenon has occurs, I. e

For total internal reflection to occur, 2 conditions must be met:

1. The index of refraction must decrease across the boundary in the direction of light refraction.

2. The angle of incidence() of the light ray must exceed the critical angle (c) of the interface.

Therefore, If > c, the entire ray reflects from the boundary. None passes through. This is called total internal reflection
