In the experiment: To determine the resistivity of a semiconductor by using Four Probe method.
If we can't use the temperature parameter here, like
if the oven isn't working to heat the four probe setup. Can we
still do the experiment by increasing the current and noting down
the corresponding Potential? If so then how will that determine the
resistivity? How will be carry out the experiment in this
case.
In the previous case we increased the temperature until it reached
200 degree celcius and noted down the potential for a fixed current
and then did the same when it started to cool off.
Now, what are we going to do the experiment in this case when the
oven isn't working.
measurement of resistivity at room temperature:
1. put the sample on the base plate of four-probe management
2. switch on the constant power supply, check the zero reading of dc microvoltmeter at zero current reading, note it down as zero error
3.increase the current gradually and note the corresponding voltage subtract the zero reading if any and then check ohm's law [V=I/R] this would ensure the system is working properly
the increment in current also increases the temperature by the following formula
t=time of current flowing.
generated heat would increase the temperature (T).
so you have to note down the temperature (T) in each reading.
