Describe several ways in which elliptical galaxies and bulges are similar.

Describe several ways in which elliptical galaxies and bulges are similar.

Answer #1

In astronomany, a bulge is a tightly packed group of stars within a large information. As,there are three types of bulges they are like ellipitical galaxies ,spiral galaxies and irregular galaxies.

The early discussion by Hubble to ellipiticals originated to the concept of bulges as scaled down ellipiticals.

Ellipitical galaxies have a bulge like central region and a halo, but donot have a disc. The bulge is round struture made primarily of old stars, gas and dust.

Ellipitical galaxies have a uniform lumunosity similar to the bulge

Ellipitical galaxies and bulges have the same origin.

Ellipitical galaxies and bulges satisfies the Sersic laws.

Ellipitical galaxies and bulges can be recovered from simulations that use cosmological self-consistent initial orbital parameters.

Describe the difference in how astronomers believe spiral and elliptical galaxies are formed. What sort of collisions take place in the formation of each type? When we look at the blackbody spectrum of an entire regular galaxy at once, we see a spectrum that looks like a brighter version of the spectrum of a star. But the spectrum of an active galaxy looks different. How is it different and what is the cause of this extra radiation?

1.Elliptical galaxies tend to be redder in colour than spiral galaxies. Why is this? Question 10 options: A.The dust in spiral galaxies preferentially reflects blue light making the galaxy look bluer B.Elliptical galaxies have more dust which reddens the light from them. C.Elliptical galaxies have no star formation and are made of cooler, older stars. D.Elliptical galaxies are farther away so their light is red shifted more 2.
