Cars are sometimes “completely totaled” after a wreck. Is this good or bad design on the part of the engineers? Why or why not?
completely totaled is a good design for the security purpose for the people inside the car
because after a car completely totaled it loses it's most of the KE energy in the collision because of deformation so there will be no bounce back or no energy left.
if the car did not totaled then the people inside of the car after an accident will be thrown out the of the car from front windscreen because of the KE energy they left
if you need more explanation, then let me know in a comment I will be happy to help
