According to me , Challanging point in the reading is Decoding and word recognition.

Difficulties in decoding and word recognition are at the core of most reading difficulties.Poor readers have difficulty in understanding that sounds in words are linked to certain letters and letter patterns. This is called the " Alphabetic principle".

Many poor readers dont attain the alphabetic principle beacuse they have not developed phenomic awareness. This means being aware that words are made up speech sounds, or phenomes. When word recognition isn't automatic, reading can't be fluent.
