Saturation current, Or reverse saturation current is that part of reverse current in a semiconductor diode caused by diffusion of minority carriers from neutral region to depletion region. It is not constant for a given diode but varies with temperature.
Series resistance in diode is inevitable. It is because it come from a region inside diode called depletion region. It act as a barrier to electric current. Depletion region consist of immobile charge carrier and it oppose the charge flow.
In forward bias the resistance is low because depletion width is smaller but it becomes wider in reverse bias causing greater resistance. Hence series resistance in diode is inevitable.
