If the floating object is given slight push then it will go inside and then again it will come to the water surface. This happens always as you push it downwards.
The concept behind this process is the concept of Buoyant force. This is { F=Area* }as you push the object slightly in downwards direction then the height increases and hence the force exerted by the water on the submersed object increases and it becomes less than the force applied by the submersed object in downward direction hence overall the force in upward direction is more hence we see the floating object popping out after a push in downward direction.
