In your opinion, in recruiting, which is more important to the success of both the hired employee and the organization, ‘person-job fit’ or person-organization fit’? Why?
Answer:
“Person-Organization Fit”: This is defined as the applicant/candidate under hiring process is more suitable and fit for the organization in terms the culture and value of the organization. Thus the culture and values of the organization matches with the culture and values of the organization. In this the organization will be happier to have the candidate which is suitable for culture of the organization.
“Person-Job Fit”: This is defined as the applicant/candidate under hiring process, is more suitable and fit for the job position, in terms the skills and expertise required for the job position. Thus the skill sets, knowledge and expertise of the candidate matches with the skill sets, knowledge and expertise required for the job position. In this the candidate will be happier and can deliver better results. Organization will be able to achieve the job position deliverables, but may not find the candidate suitable in the organization culture.
In our opinion, in recruiting, “Person-Organization Fit” is more important to the success of both the hired employee and the organization, than the ‘Person-Job Fit’ because of the following reasons as below
