Take one organization as an example and answer to the following.
One important thing to consider when looking for a job is whether your personality will fit the organization to which you are applying. For instance, it may be a highly structured organization. If you by nature are much less formal, this may not be a good fit for you. Give an examples to show the differences between person -job fit and person–organization fit.
During decision making process. Contrast the rational model of decision making with bounded rationality and intuition with practical example.
“Thirty-five years ago, young employees we hired were ambitious, conscientious, hard-working, and honest. Today’s young employees don’t have the same values.” Do you agree or disagree with this manager’s comments? Support your position.
To answer this questions, let's consider an IT comapny which is into the market from many years and has highly structured processed and has a good brand name. It is also well known for it's work culture and the quality of life when it comes to working conditions over there. But when it comes to professional front, the rules and regulations are very strict.
To explain the difference between, Person-job fit and person- organisation fit, let's consider there is a person named Nick. Describing his traits- He is an open minded individual, with less professionalism but high thinking skill and talent. He is not very result and target oriented person. His sole interest is into customer support / client servicing. Supposedly, he is selected for the position of client servicing in the company, we described above.
Upon analysing, his traits, we can say that Nick is person- job fit, as he has skills for this role and interest for the same so he would be able to give desirable output.
Contrary, he is not much result oriented person with less professionalism, and since the company is really very strict when it comes to professional front so he would not fit for the organisation as a person so we can refer him as not person- organisation fit.
Ans 2. -Rational Model of Decison Making :
This model describes that the decision maker has perfect information/ knowledge about alternatives and they aslo have the time, resources, ability to evaluate and analyse the choice against each other.
Example : A person who is into a particular department of a company from many years and he is asked to formulate the draf of polices for that particular dept.
Whereas, In bounded rationality the decision maker has limited information/ knowledge about the alternatives and also have limited time, resources and ability to evaluate and analyse the choice against each other.
For example: A person who is new to a dept of a company and he is asked to formulate a draft or policies. Naturally, he won't be able to formulate them properly and would also make some errors.
Ans 3. As per the manager's statement that in today's hired employees he didn't find values such as honesty, hard work, ambition, I would personally disagree with the statement because if we look at the education trend, it's more advanced and technical with respect to what it used to be 35 years ago. Today's employees have more skills wether it comes to computer skills or analytical skills or comm. skills due to the advancement of technology So, people have become more advanced, hard working and ambitious. Contrary, of course one who don't want to get in gel with the advancing technology will not be having traits like hard work, ambitious and much more.
So, solely to say that no employees have those traits would be wrong.
Hope this helps !!
