At present, the external business environment can be seen as one of the most volatile due to a number of challenges appearing in front of the organization. In order to deal with these challenges, the organizations are required to have a strong and sustainable environment within the organization. The various benefits of having strong organizational environment are given as below:-

  • By having the strong organizational environment, the firms can enjoy a number of economic advantages. This will help the organization to have greater productivity and improved performance. By having a stronger organizational environment, the employee’s performance can be improved significantly which is usually not capitalized.
  • The strong organizational environment will help the organization to have a control over the different costs. When the environment is quite healthy and supportive, the employees are motivated to control the wastage in different processes. Due to this organizational environment, the employees tend to have personal responsibility of checking the wastage in various activities and this will result in cost-cutting and improvement of profit.
  • If an organization has a strong organizational environment, it can act as a strong promotional message for attracting the new talent . We all know that it is the human resource which really decides the fate of the organization at present, thus the organizational environment really appeals to the talented candidates and it will provide a large pool of worthy candidates for the organization to select the desired number of individuals for various ob positions.
  • By having the strong organizational environment, the employees are motivated and thus they have higher morale while working for the organization. They will give their best for the service of the organization.
  • With the evolving organisational environment, the managers come to known about the various strategies of serving the customers better which will help the organization to have greater customer satisfaction and thus greater market share. This will also be used as a competitive advantage by the organization

The various disadvantages which can result from the lack of engagement are explained as below:-

  • In comparison to engaged manpower, the disengaged employees do not care about the organization and the job. They will not be motivated to take any action which is beneficial for the organization such as reduction of wastage, improved customer service and so on.
  • Lack of engagement can result in higher operating and wastage cost for the organization as the employees will not be interested in taking care of these practices and thus the productivity and efficiency of the organization will reduce.
  • The customer service and thus market share can be hampered due to lack of engagement from the manpower.
  • There will be greater chances of absenteeism, higher turnover and chances of accidents in the organization which can create a problem for the organization for a sustainable development.
  • There can be increased cost o the organization in training new employees, compensation to the customers in case of poor product quality and customer service and increased wastage.
