Major Management Challenges in Developing International
Information Systems
- Common user Agreement: One of the major
challenge in developing international information systems is
aligning the common goals of the users at different locations.
There are certain location specific requirements which are
priorities of the users, hence users are more inclined towards
localization than the standardization
- Coordination among different locations: The
effective coordination between different locations is also a major
challenge. Without effective coordination, there is always a risk
of system failure
- Implementing Changes: While developing the
information system, the change management/implementation possess a
big challenge. Depending on the local user’s interest often, the
implementation gets struck in the disputes
- Motivating Local users: Motivating locals
users for international information systems in very difficult
procedure. Local users have resilient towards alien systems,
therefore for successful development of information systems,
motivating local users is the key
There are few disadvantages of having international information
system:
- Clash of interest between users at different locations leads to
complications
- Time difference will lead to confusion and coordination
problems
- Long distance will always have the issue of connectivity
