  • Hotel Mission: Hotel mission will create the guidelines and direction of the operations for which the hotel was established. This will help in creating the various standards about the various operations to be performed and it will be a guiding principle for the hotel staff while performing their duties.
  • Empower employees: Employee empowerment will help the employees to be motivated and encouraging and this will create a solid and strong team where each member will be ready to help others.
  • Training staff: Staff training is last but not the least. It is also an important aspect of hotel operations. Proper training should be provided to the manpower of the hotel so that they can serve the customers well. Empowerment and the well-established mission will certainly help in this regard.

In my opinion, in case of the hotel industry, while implementing TQM, the most important area is the training provided to the hotel staff. There must be a regular and consistent training program. This will help the staff to understand and perform as per the expectation s of the management and guests. As hotel industry is a dynamic industry and each new day new services and facility are added, thus there will be a great many things to be learned by the staff. This can easily be done with the help of proper and continuous training. I would like to conduct an annual grand training session in which I would invite the experts of the industry to share their views and impart the latest knowledge to the employees.
