Perception is the process by which individuals attend to, organize, interpret, and retain information from their environments. People experience stimuli through their own perceptual filters—the personality-, psychology-, or experience-based differences that influence them to ignore or pay attention to particular stimuli. Because of filtering, people exposed to the same information will often disagree about what they saw or heard. According to attribution theory, we use two general reasons or attributions to explain people’s behavior: an internal attribution, in which behavior is thought to be voluntary or under the control of the individual; and an external attribution, in which behavior is thought to be involuntary and outside of the control of the individual.
Please provide your thoughts regarding the information above.
The behaviour of an individual depends on their perceptions. The way they see their surroundings and the way they experience them makes them what they are. While it is correct that there are two attributes to a person's behaviour as explained above, external factors influence the internal characteristics of a person and might even change the way they behave. External attributes play major role in shaping up the internal character of the individual . For example we generally behave with people depending on the way they behave with us. So external attributes influence the internal attributes.
