A large project that took longer than an year to complete was the construction of Hoover Dam which took a lot of year to complete and was constructed by a consortium of contractors, companies etc. Some of the tasks performed to monitor and control the project were:

1. Proper scheduling: Proper project scheduling was done and time was assigned to each and every activity so that the project is controlled in a better manner and is executed timely as well.

2. Workforce supervision: In order to monitor the activities in the project, proper supervision of the workforce was done and their performance was analyzed. Moreover the quality of work executed by them was verified so that the project is executed with precision.

3. Training: Proper training was provided to the workforce to perform critical jobs and hence it was automatically ensured that project was controlled in a better manner.

4. Scope of work: Scope of work was also properly designed and documented in order to clearly know the rules and responsibilities of each and every party and monitor the project in a proper manner.
