Technology, Social/Environment mindset, and Time are forces that have changed project management in the way its carried out. Technology is advancing in months rather than decades, so project management is constantly adapting and changing to fit these technologies into the scope of the project and implement the strategies of the business. Businesses have become more socially and environmentally conscious so projects have to take into account what effects it will have the physical world and how the consumer would react to the results of the project. Time has become a very critical in project management. Businesses are looking to get products out quicker than the competition and move innovation at a torrid pace. So project managers have to clearly define deadlines and a end time that would be success to the business.

The post takes into account the impact of project management and how it works today. It is correct when it is said that the project management nowadays have been greatly influenced by technology and social/environmental mindset. A project manager and his organization needs to consider not only the internal stakeholder but the external stakeholder as well while planning a project.

While the deadlines and end time for a project is important, it is also equally important to how the project is carried out. Social responsibility and ethics have a strong say in our society and by effect on our project management. Time is no longer the only success criteria of a project. The ends not necessarily justify the means in project management. At least not nowadays. The way the project is handled, optimized, delivered and impacts the surrounding are equally important and are often key metrics for a project.
