There are several key environmental forces that have changed how projects are managed. Examples of these forces include product life cycle, global competition, downsizing of organizations, knowledge growth and changes in technology. To me technology has made the biggest impact on how projects are managed. Technology has brought improved communication, efficiency in the cloud, real-time updates and reporting, decentralized project teams, and social collaboration. New capabilities lead to higher expectations from all stakeholders and project teams are able to achieve more in less time.

Answer: I agree with this post that out of all the environmental factors, technology has made a number changes and transformations in the ways in which the projects were managed earlier. The development in technology has helped in the development of tools that enables better communication and collaboration between the various entities involved in a project. The technology has made communication faster and better with new ways like video conferencing emerging for managing the projects. The cloud technology and Information technologies like internet and intranet has enabled the better recording, storage and analysis of data. Technologies are now increasingly being used by the project managers for managing their projects in a better way. With the further improvements in technologies, the project managers will be able to execute and monitor the projects in a highly efficient manner.
