He is a respected and determined individual,the fact that he was a warrior and a wrestler which implies that he was physically fit and was consistent and persistent in achieving his goal which is an essential leadership trait. he gained respect of his followers by being the clansman. All the about taits and skills led him to becoming a successful warrior and wrestler.
But his ignorant nature lead to failure. He was determined to not be like his father who was lazy and unsuccessful man. Hence he decided not to imbibe even few positive characteristics of his father. Father was also very polite and gentle with other people. Opposed to which okonkwo was very rude and harsh with people.This eventually let him to failure
