Answer #1

The phrase means the perception of the employers in a particular state or country about the recent graduate students regarding their skills, education, and competence as compared to what is required in the industry in order to make these graduates employable. Different government and non-government organizations in different countries perform such surveys in order to estimate the gap between the educational system and the industry requirement so as to reduce the cause of under skill as it related to unemployment. For example, the Directorate-General Communication of EU coordinates such a survey in the EU Member States to collect and analyze the insights into the needs and perceptions of graduate recruiters by monitoring the opinions of staff in companies of these countries.
