Here is the Question:Discuss which generic business-level strategy is best suited to keep the company you selected competitive.

Here is what they posted:The company that I used in last week’s discussion was Nike. The type of generic business-level strategy that Nike should continue to focus is differentiation. The essence of a differentiation strategy is separating the product of a company from its’ competitors. When using this strategy, it is important to emphasize a high-quality product that is different from a competitors’ (Strategic Management, 2014, ch.5, pg. 149). Nike separates itself from its competitors through the use of the ‘swoosh’ logo and focusing on creating the best products for the best athletes in their field and is leading its’ competitors in sales (Lutz, 2015). As competition is increasing, Nike needs to focus on keeping their products different from their competitors by focusing on high quality and uniqueness.

Answer #1

In order to make the organization competitive the organization already has a strategy and that is earn more from less which is actually good because Nike has a loyal customer base but as the competition is very high in this field it may happen that the customer base may get attracted to other organizations and in order to mitigate this Nike should actually extend their customer base which is not that large like the others in the competition and it may happen that they actually lose out on potential business, therefore it would be better if they can actually target other section of the society in order to be more profitable. So for that the organization needs to lower down the costs of the product so that it can be affordable for a larger section and this make the organization more competitive.
