Think of three people you know from the different generations discussed in the module. Of these people, who is and is not satis?ed with their work and jobs? Explain why they are or are not satis?ed. To what extent did “ethical reasons” affect their work satisfaction? Explain.

Think of three people we know from the different generations are as below

  • A Person – Previous generation - A satisfied with his work and job. Satisfied as he is getting good salary and left with very low working time, close to retirement.
  • B Person – Current generation - B not satisfied with his work and job: Reason for not satisfaction is that he is not able to see his future growth and survival in the organization. He wants to develop his own business so that he will be safe in future and avoid corporate firing issues if any in future.
  • C Person – Recent generation - C satisfied with his recent work and job- Satisfied as he recently get the job and he is understanding the work and it looks to him very interesting.

Generational differences contribute in our analysis of the individuals’ work satisfaction: Yes it is true that generation differences contribute for the job satisfaction. The old generation people is satisfied with his job at the age of 56 years also, as he is getting good salary and he is enjoying with work and job.

The current generation people is not satisfied with his current job and he has the impression that his salary is low and he do not see future growth and career aspirations in corporate world.

The new generation person is happy initially as he is learning the work, but soon he will be dissatisfied as he will think that he is not getting good salary in near future.

Ethical Reasons” affect the work satisfaction of people: Ethics is main base for job satisfaction and people gets the understanding of their job satisfaction based on the ethics they have developed. Ethics only helps the people to understand what is right and what is wrong. When we knew that we are doing a right things then our satisfaction level increases and when we knew that we are doing a wrong thing, then our satisfaction level is decreasing.
