In my opinion this study examined the level of implementation and achievement of skill development Act 97 of 1998 with a view which can reduce shortage of skills in construction industry. By using the questionnaires and quantitative approach that were associated on stakeholders who are concerned with that skill development in the construction industry. As mean item score was used for getting analysis and ranking of identified variables. As these barriers are certain to these implementation of skill development act for example finance and low employer participation only if effectively implemented as it will improve the performance of the construction projects through skill development of the workforce. As the objectives of skill development act can be achieved partially and the need to increase public awareness in skill training. It has explored the drivers and barriers in the level of achievement of its goals and became useful for education sector and training authorities.
