Charter of rights and freedom protects several rights of freedom . These rights are very impressed. The section one confirms the rights mentioned in charter of rights and freedom.Section 1 balances between the rights of the individual and the interests of society by permitting limits to be placed on guaranteed rights and freedoms.

As most of modern constitutions recognize rights not absolute and can be limited if necessary. It is known as reasonable or limit clause .It is also known as limitation clause. This is because it legally permits government to limit an individual's Charter rights.

It is very important section as it gaurantee the rights mentioned in charter. It confirms the mentioned rights of the charter.Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
