Describe one real life example that discourages retailer’s sales effort outside our class examples.
The retail's store example I would like to talk discouraging the retail's sales efforts is about Blockbuster. Blockbuster was a video rantal company and having retail stores all around the country in 2004. It was at its highest point at that time. The company also survived the change from VHS to DVD but the retailers failed to innovate for a much better streaming options like Netflix.
The retail store put a lot of efforts to save their business as when Netflix was shipping out their DVD's to their customer's homes, Blockbuster thought and forecasted that their physical retail stores were enough to please and stay connected with the customers. Because the same company ans the retailing style has made the brand a leader for so many years, they didn't see any need to change their business or strategy for the upcoming times. The same efforts and retailing style was carried down for several more years.
Around in 2010, Blockbyster wad filed for the bankruptcy and Netflix's online streaming became a popular business. Netflix is now a $28 billion dollar company and there are no signs of Blockbuster that it ever existed.
