Exploratory Research can be made through primary research or secondary research and some tome combination of both used in gathering data.

Example: A well-established Restaurant want improve their sales via introduction of more fusion food to their customer but they are not confident about that so they conduct the Exploratory Research through primary method and collected the information from customer. They created Open ended question list for customer and made arrangement that customer can give answer as they intend to give. They asked customer how they can improve the interior and exterior of restaurant, theme of restaurant and the fusion of food recipes so that new customer get attracted restaurant and sale get increased.
