What is the relationship between research- and evidence-based public health? Provide an example from your experience that shows why this relationship is important.

Research is systematic investigation or study of the materials and sources or problems to establish facts and new conclusions or solutions for the particular problem under study.

Evidence based public health is defined as "development, implementation, and evaluation of effective programs and policies in public health through application of principles of scientific reasoning".

Evidence based public health should be based on the research evidences. Intervention applied in public health must have research evidence. Research provides the evidence for interventions for particular problem.

Example:-

For the prevention of decubitis ulcers for bed ridden patients, they need intervention like regularly changing position, back care and back massage.

These intervention are prooved through conducting research, so it is considered as evidence based public health.
