Why are union officials likely to oppose flexible work hours and other innovative work schedules?
Union employees usually look for some kind of rigid schedules for work i.e. strictly 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week. They usually work for lesser time compared to non-unionworkers. Though flexible work hours and innovative work schedules provide the required work-life balance, it requires the employee to work when another employee is provided off or flexible timings for some reason. Hence, the predictability of work hours becomes difficult for the workers. As the innovative work schedules require flexibility in workweek and workdays, union officals will most likely oppose the same.
