Look at the two preschool schedules below. Which schedule is likely to have less discipline problems? Why? If you are familiar with a part-day program for preschool children, feel free to discuss how its schedule is similar or different to these.

Part Day Preschool Schedule, based on 4 hours, with two meals, circle and story time

8:30     Children arrive and greet each other

9:00     Breakfast for all         

9:30     Free choice

10:00 Circle with story and announcements and the introduction of the letter for the day

10:30   Group lessons such as science/reading/cooking with the teacher

11:00 Outdoors

11:30 Wash up for lunch

12:00 Lunch

12:30 Departure

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this schedule?

Alternative Schedule:

Part Day Preschool Schedule, based on 4 hours, with two meals, circle and story time

8:30     Children arrive and greet each other

8:45     Breakfast for those who are hungry; activity centers for those who are not hungry

9:15     Circle with movement and songs; followed by announcements and introduction of materials/activities special for the day

9:45     Free choice of learning centers, including a small group activity with teacher such as cooking/science/game; indoors and outdoors if enough staff are present; snack available as an individual option

11:20 Story time

11:30 Wash up for lunch

12:00 Lunch

12:30 Departure

According to me the second option is much better as they are small kids they should be thought and they will be more productive in the time table whre they have a jolly, happy, game mood.. They will love to do those will love to come to school and will study well and will enjoy.. They will learn many different other cultural activities, games and all..

The disadvantages is there is little less study time given in this schedule so little bit more study time should be there so that i could be a good for them..
