What are the differences between “disruptive bargaining” and “integrated bargaining” with union and management. Give an example of each type.
Disruptive bargaining is the situation where one party would have to loose for the other party to gain something in the bargaining process. Intergated bargaining is where both the parties discuss and come up with a solution which is advantageous to both the sides. In the process of bargaining between union and management , if the union demands something which would cause a huge loss to the management ,then it is disruptive bargaining. For example if the union demands the management to provide every benefit for the employees even during shutdown , then it is disruptive bargaining. If the union tries to convince the management to pay the basic salary and the employees are ready to leave the other benefits as the company is shutdown, it would be a win-win situation for both the sides and hence it is integrated bargaining.
